Shrink tube hair extensions derive their name from the tiny plastic tubes which are known as “shrink tubes”. The tubes on being heated, shrink and are often composed of an inner coating of keratin. Keratin is the protein which comprises our hair and is also used in most hair extensions. The application of the shrink tube is a cross between the micro loop and hot/cold fusion methods. We at Rapunzel Hair Academy employ only our most skilled stylist to section your hair and once the sectioning is done, the application of the hair extension and to place a shrink tube on the end of it. The stylist will then take a section of your hair and thread it through the shrink tube and heat the shrink tool to the point where it creates a secure bond to hold the extension.

After completion of the entire process, the client’s hair is guaranteed to look fuller and longer. Moreover, depending on the extension used, it can also express highlights and add vibrant colour to the hair. Since the stylist uses many small strands of hair as opposed to a large section of it, the client’s hair would be more versatile and move naturally. Also, it will be extremely difficult to decipher that there are extensions in place since the bonding is impeccable and the extension is of the same colour as the natural hair.
