How To Do A Sew-in Weave? Learn The Step-by-step Details

Rapunzel Hair Academy offers advanced weave sew-in hair extension training online. If you want to learn how to do a sew-in weave, you can join the online course or you can follow the steps given below.

Here are the steps on how to do a weave sew-in hair extension.

  1. Make your hair free from tangles and apply your preferred conditioner. Part some of your hair either from the middle or from either side. This will be your leave out and will cover the final tracks when you are done with the sewing. You can also leave out the edges so that your hair looks natural on the front.
  2. Braid two small anchor braids around your leave-out area. This is done to make your hair look less bulky after sewing.
  3. Braid the rest of the hair. You can braid it in a circular beehive shape or just braid small cornrows.
  4. If you have medium to long hair, you should use a c-needle to sew your hanging braids next to the gaps between your cornrows so they lie as flat as possible.
  5. Apply your favorite oil to your scalp to prevent any dryness.
  6. Now, sew a weaving net over your hair. If you have larger gaps between your braids, it is a good thing as it will provide you more room to sew the tracks.
  7.  Begin with sewing the wefts onto your hair/net. You may want t use a clip to hold the end of each weft in place so that you can focus on sewing. At the nape of your hair, the wefts will be fairly straight. But as you move towards the top of your hair, you will have to curve them to attach them to your anchor braids neatly.
  8.  Once the wefts are attached, straighten out the leave out and apply the edge control. Now you are free to do whatever you want to with your hair.
